Surplus of AZN 311 mln occurs in execution of state budget

Revenues of the state budget of Azerbaijan have made up AZN 15 937, 5 mln, and expenditures AZN 15 626,8 mln in January-August of this year, APA-Economics reports citing the State Statistics.

According to the information, these figures have decreased by 0,1% and 4,5% in comparison to the same period of the previous year. As a result, state budget surplus has amounted to 310,7 mln manat or made up 0,6% of the GDP.

Turkey-Azerbaijan “Brotherly Brigade” military exercises continue-

“Brotherly Brigade” military exercises being held with the participation of Turkish and Azerbaijani servicemen is underway, according to the information disseminated by the Turkish National Defence Ministry, APA reports.

“Within the framework of the “Brotherly Brigade” project, exercises of Azerbaijani servicemen in Turkey are underway at the 18th Mechanized Infantry Brigade Command in Canakkale,” the information reads.

The military leadership of Azerbaijan and Turkey observed the “TurAz Falcon – 2021” Joint Flight-Tactical Exercises

The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the First Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Lieutenant General Karim Valiyev, and the Deputy Minister of Defense – Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Ramiz Tahirov arrived in Konya to take part in the Distinguished Visitors Day held as part of the “TurAz Falcon – 2021″ joint flight-tactical exercises”. The military leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan is visiting the fraternal country at the invitation of the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey Hulusi Akar, the Ministry of Defense told APA.

A solemn welcoming ceremony of the Azerbaijani delegation with the participation of the guard of honor was held at the training area.

Then, a briefing on the process of the “TurAz Falcon – 2021” joint exercises and the accomplished tasks was given for Distinguished Visitors. After the briefing, the Defense Ministers of Azerbaijan and Turkey spoke. Welcoming the military personnel participating in the exercises, Colonel General Z. Hasanov noted that Azerbaijani-Turkish relations successfully continue under the leadership of the heads of the two countries

Today, Azerbaijani-Turkish relations are based on strategic partnership, and as part of it, consistent measures are being taken in the field of army construction.

The Defense Minister expressed his gratitude to fraternal Turkey emphasizing its moral support provided during the Patriotic War.

The Minister also stressed that the joint exercises provide further improvement of the knowledge and skills of military pilots.

Speaking at the meeting the Minister of National Defense of Turkey, Mr.Hulusi Akar, noted that he highly appreciated conducting joint exercises. Emphasizing the importance of developing bilateral military cooperation, Mr.H.Akar said that the exercises are very important for Azerbaijani and Turkish servicemen in gaining experience. It was stressed that military cooperation between the two countries is aimed at the security of the peoples and countries as well as stability in the region.

Stressing the high professionalism and skills demonstrated by the exercise participants, as well as the successful fulfillment of the assigned tasks, both ministers wished them greater success in the service.

In the end, the guests watched the practical part of the exercises.

Azerbaijani FM meets with World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan

On September 14, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov met with the World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan, Sarah Michael, Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated Sarah Michael on her appointment and wished her success in her activities. Speaking with satisfaction about Azerbaijan’s relations with the World Bank, the Minister said that our country attaches great importance to this cooperation. The cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank in the non-oil sector, private sector, alternative energy, digital development, and other areas was specifically noted.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov provided broad information on the restoration and reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including the implementation of smart city and village, green energy, and modern infrastructure projects. He also stressed that the opening of all communication lines and transit routes in the region in accordance with the signed trilateral statements is important for the future development of not only the two countries but the entire region.

Sarah Michael, expressed satisfaction with the bilateral cooperation, highlighting that the next year would mark the 30th anniversary of the World Bank’s activities in Azerbaijan. She stressed that they will continue to support Azerbaijan’s great vision for the development of the country and the region as a whole. As for the restoration process in the liberated areas, Country Manager said that they were ready to provide the relevant support to the process.

Azerbaijani FM receives newly appointed representative of EU to Azerbaijan

On September 14, 2021, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the new Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Peter Michalko, Azerbaijani MFA told APA.

Peter Michalko presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the representative of the European Union on his appointment and expressed confidence that he would contribute to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and EU.

The sides exchanged views on the existing effective cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan, including recent high-level visits to Azerbaijan, preparations for the upcoming high-level Eastern Partnership meetings, a new Agreement that will form the legal basis of the bilateral relations, as well as the prospects for cooperation.

During the meeting, various issues of the cooperation agenda of Azerbaijan and the European Union were discussed, including the implementation of projects in the energy sector, as well as the expansion of cooperation in this field.

Peter Michalko noted that Azerbaijan is an important partner for the European Union and said that he would do his best to develop these relations in all areas during his term.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov informed his interlocutor about Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan, its consequences and unconstructive approach towards resolving the conflict over the past 28 years, liberation of our territories as a result of the 44-day war, restoration and reconstruction works currently carried out in these lands, as well as future development plans of the territories.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
