Commercial banks responsible for issuing banknotes unsuitable for circulation via ATMs – CBA

Commercial banks are responsible for issuing banknotes unsuitable for circulation by ATMs, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) told Trend.

Information about ATMs of the International Bank of Azerbaijan issuing banknotes unsuitable for circulation has recently spread in the media and the Azerbaijani segment of social networks.

All commercial banks, including the International Bank of Azerbaijan OJSC, were again instructed on taking additional measures in this regard.

In order to maintain the high quality of banknotes in circulation and effectively organize the fight against counterfeiting, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan is implementing a “Policy of clean money in circulation”.

As part of this policy, commercial banks are constantly required to issue high-quality banknotes processed in automated systems or the corresponding systems of the Central Bank,” the CBA said.

Ministry of Energy announces daily oil production volume in Azerbaijan for 8M2021

The daily oil production (including condensate) in Azerbaijan in August 2021 amounted to 711,600 barrels, Trend reports via the Ministry of Energy.

Some 596,100 barrels fell on crude oil, and 115,500 barrels – on condensate oil.

The daily oil production (including condensate) over the same period in 2020 in Azerbaijan reached 669,100 barrels, of which 584,600 barrels were crude oil, and 84,500 barrels was condensate.

In annual terms, the daily volume of oil production increased by 42,500 barrels or 6.4 percent.

According to the decision of the OPEC+ ministers adopted in July 2021, Azerbaijan’s commitment to reduce production in August should have amounted to 91,000 barrels, and daily crude oil production should have been increased by 7,000 barrels compared to July – to 627,000 barrels.

According to the agreement adopted in July 2021 at the 19th meeting of OPEC+ ministers, starting from August 2021, the countries included in this structure must increase daily crude oil production by 400,000 barrels per day on a monthly basis.

It is planned to complete the cuts of 5.8 million barrels in September 2022 and extend the validity period of the “Declaration on Cooperation” until the end of 2022, with a partial adjustment of the base level of oil production from May 2022.

Azerbaijan was able to increase its crude oil production by about 7,000 barrels per day on a monthly basis and thereby reduce its obligations in connection with the cuts.

NACO members hold preparatory meeting prior to 7th News Agencies World Congress

The News Agencies World Council (NACO) held, Thursday, a meeting of its members, as part of the preparation of the 7th News Agencies World Congress (NAWC), to be held by the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), in late November 2022 in Marrakech, Trend reports citing MAP.

This meeting, chaired by Director General of MAP, Khalil Hachimi Idrissi, aims to examine the main aspects related to the organization of this international event, the first of its kind in Africa, and to decide on the slogan “The Future of News Agencies in Post-Pandemic Word”.

The purpose of this meeting is to prepare a number of elements (reception, logistics…) and themes related to this World Congress with all the topics that interest the future of news agencies after the pandemic, said Hachimi Idrissi in a statement to M24, the TV channel of continuous information of MAP, adding that the 7th edition of the News Agencies World Congress “will draw the future of news agencies worldwide”.

“There is no doubt that the pandemic has had a deep impact on the philosophy, approach and work of the world’s news agencies, and we come up with a number of conclusions that are binding for the future, including the digitalization and globalization of news agencies,” he said.

After stressing that the evolution of the market has forced news agencies to become global media, Hachimi Idrissi said that a news agency is now a multi-support, multi-vector and multi-segment tool.

“This is the only way today to cope with the evolution of the information system market and to be close to its new customers/members who require a wide range of products, beyond the classic news article,” he noted.

For his part, Clive Marshall, Director of the British agency PA-Media Group and president of the News Agencies World Council, stressed that the next edition of the News Agencies World Congress will bring together more than 200 global personalities, including directors of news agencies, as well as international experts in the media sector.

Kiril Valchev, CEO of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), current president of the News Agencies World Congress, stressed that the Marrakech Congress will be an opportunity to discuss the future of news agencies in the world after the pandemic, as well as several other issues, including fake news, media between opinions and facts, media between the needs of the market and the right to information …

Mikhail Gusman, from the Russian agency TASS and Vice President of the News Agencies World Congress, welcomed the choice of MAP to host this major event of news agencies, a sign of confidence of members of the News Agencies Council in the ability of Morocco to successfully organize events of global scope.

A second meeting of NACO members is scheduled for January 2022 in London.

Morocco was chosen to host the 7th edition of the News Agencies World Congress in 2022 during a meeting of members of the News Agencies World Council (NACO), held in London in December 2019.
