ECO Secretary General strongly condemns armed attack on Azerbaijan’s embassy in Iran

Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Khusrav Noziri has made a phone call to Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov regarding the terrorist attack committed against Azerbaijan’s embassy in Iran.

 

ECO Secretary General Khusrav Noziri resolutely condemned the armed attack on Azerbaijan’s embassy in Iran, expressing his condolences over the murder of the embassy employee.

 

Khusrav Noziri strongly condemned this act, which is a gross violation of international legal norms, including the “Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations”, saying that it is necessary to bring the criminals to trial as soon as possible.

 

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed gratitude for ECO Secretary General’s support. The FM noted that Azerbaijan will undertake all necessary measures to bring the perpetrators of this treacherous terrorist act, as a result of which one employee was killed and two others injured, and their supporters to justice. He emphasized that the receiving state has an obligation to prevent such attacks.

Azerbaijan, Ukraine discuss business links

Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Board of Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) Orkhan Mammadov has met with head of “Terezi” Ukrainian-Azerbaijani Business Association Jalal Huseynov.

 

The meeting saw discussions on cooperation between Azerbaijani and Ukrainian businessmen and support for the implementation of joint business-oriented initiatives.

Azerbaijan, Czech Republic discuss economic cooperation

Azerbaijan`s Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov has met with head of the CzechTrade Baku office Antonín Marčík.

 

Highlighting the opportunities for expanding economic ties between the two countries and the importance of enhancing the role of the private sector in this area, Mammadov described the Baku office of CzechTrade as a useful platform in this regard.

 

Antonín Marčík emphasized the Czech companies of automotive and food industries are particularly keen on strengthening cooperation with Azerbaijan and that CzechTrade would step up its efforts in this direction.

 

The sides also exchanged views on prospects for economic cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

 

Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the country Milan Sedláček was also present at the meeting.

Azerbaijan`s coronavirus death toll reaches 10,085

Azerbaijan registered four new coronavirus deaths Tuesday, taking the country’s total number of fatalities to 10,085, the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers told AZERTAC.

 

The Task Force said health officials also detected 35 more coronavirus cases after carrying out 2,256 new tests.

 

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases identified in the country is now 827,944.

 

The total recoveries stood at 817,654, with 54 patients newly recovering from the disease.

Azerbaijan administers 444 COVID-19 jabs in 24 hours

Azerbaijan administered a total of 444 COVID-19 jabs on Monday, the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers told AZERTAC.

 

Azerbaijan has administered more than 13.9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since it launched an immunization drive in January 2021.

 

More than 5.4 million people have received their first doses, while nearly 4.9 million people got their second doses.

 

Azerbaijan has also given third booster shots to nearly 3.4 million people.
