Azerbaijan and Turkey Expand Military Cooperation Through High-Level Meetings


ANKARA — Azerbaijan’s Acting Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzade, visited Turkey this week at the invitation of Turkish Air Force Commander Army General Ziya Cemal Kadioglu. During the visit, Lieutenant General Islamzade held a series of meetings with key Turkish defense officials to discuss the current state of military cooperation between the two countries.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Islamzade met with Haluk Görgün, President of the Secretariat of Defense Industries, Yasar Güler, Turkey’s Minister of National Defense, and General Kadioglu. The meetings focused on expanding cooperation in military, military-technical, and military education fields, as well as discussing future joint projects. Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening ties in defense to enhance security and strategic alignment.
