A rapid tournament between coaches and assistants occurred on the rest day at the 2024 Candidates Tournament held in Canada, APA reports citing Azerbaijan Chess Federation.

Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadov was the winner in the rapid competition, as he was in the blitz.

Note that Shahriyar Mammadov went to Toronto as the assistant coach of Azerbaijani representative Nijat Abasov.
