Turkmenistan expresses its commitment to becoming full member of Organization of Turkic States

Turkmenistan expresses hope that the country will soon become a full member of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.

This was stated by President of the Supreme Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, speaking on March 16 at the Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye.

He noted that in case of improvement of legislation Turkmenistan can join the ranks of the organization of Turkic States.

Furthermore, during his speech, Berdimuhamedov also stressed the importance of the unity of the Turkic world and also added that in difficult times, the Turkic states should be close and support each other.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Ankara. The event was held within the framework of the emergency summit of the OTS, which was held on March 16 in Ankara on the topic “Disaster Emergency Management and Humanitarian Aid”.

World Sleep Day was first observed in 2008 by the World Sleep Society, previously known as the World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM), a non-profit organisation with a group of dedicated health care providers and members of the medical community working and studying in the area of sleep medicine and research, to promote and advance sleep health worldwide. The goal of the first World Sleep Day was to bring together sleep healthcare providers to discuss and distribute sleep information around the world. In today’s era, lifestyles have become increasingly hectic led by several factors such as long working hours and heightened commuting time. However, to ensure consistency in performance, the importance of having good sleep has risen, in the last few years, which has enhanced the significance of initiatives such as World Sleep Day. According to the World Sleep Society, “World Sleep Day is an opportunity to promote sleep health alongside thousands of other sleep health professionals and advocates. When we all promote sleep health and #WorldSleepDay together, our combined effort is greater than the sum of its parts. Spread the word about sleep health on World Sleep Day, and help elevate the conversation around sleep.” The theme for this year’s Sleep Day is ‘Sleep is Essential for Health’. According to World Sleep Society, the theme aims to focus that as eating well and exercising is necessary for good health, a good sleep is a foundation to one’s physical, mental, and social well-being.

Relatives of missing student held protest in front of Iranian Embassy in Baku

Relatives of Azerbaijani citizen Farid Safarli missing in Iran held on March 17 a protest in front of the Iranian Embassy in Baku. They held placards: “Bring back Farid!”, “Give information about Farid!” and chanted slogans demanding the release of Safarli. Relatives said that when Safarli left for Iran, he did not inform anyone about it but his friends. “He went there because of his lover. Since March 4, communication with him has been cut off,” said one of the protesters. According to Ilgar Huseinli, head of the Safarli Rights Protection Committee, Dilara Askerova, Safarli’s mother who lives in Germany, visited the Iranian Embassy in Berlin. “There, she was told that the local authorities are looking into the matter. The German police are also investigating. However, Iranian authorities, despite the best efforts of Farid’s relatives, are not providing any information about Farid’s whereabouts and fate,” Huseinli said. The protesters demanded that the Iranian government answer the questions raised and allow Safarli to contact his family. The rally was held without incident. Earlier, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry sent a note to the Iranian Embassy to clarify the situation due to the information about disappearance of Farid Safarli in that country.

NBCO “Finca Azerbaijan” placed bonds for 3 million manats

An auction was held in the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) for placement of bonds of the non-bank credit organization “Finca Azerbaijan” with the ISIN code Az2005019206 and a nominal value of 3 million manats, with a circulation period of 2 years, interest-bearing, unsecured non-documentary, registered bonds. This is reported by the BSE. The report says that 7 investors submitted 7 orders for the auction at a price of 100 manats (12.5%) and for a total amount of 3 million manats. Thus, the placement occurred completely. Note that the cut-off price and the weighted average price of the bonds is 100 manats (12.5%). Yield of the bonds is promised at 12.5% per annum. Interest will be paid every 3 months. Underwriter for the placement is the investment company “AzFinance”.

32 criminal cases launched on ongoing Armenian aggression after Tripartite Declaration

In violation of the requirements of the tripartite Declaration dated November 10, 2020, 32 criminal cases related to the ongoing Armenian aggression were initiated after that date, according to the report of the activity of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2022, APA reports.

The document notes that prosecution authorities launched 57 criminal case investigations on the facts of the crimes committed against Azerbaijan and its citizens by Armenian armed forces during the Patriotic war started on September 27, 2020 and lasted for 44 days.

Agreement between Azerbaijan and Serbia on “The readmission of persons living without permission” approved

The Agreement on “between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on the readmission of persons living without permission” was approved, APA reports.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed the Law on approval of the Agreement.

Note that, the Agreement was signed on November 23, 2022 in Belgrade.
