Azerbaijani military doctors continue the provision of medical aid to the injured in Kahramanmarash

The military medical personnel of the Azerbaijan Army continues the activities in Kahramanmarash in interaction with the representatives of the Ministry of Health of Türkiye and the Turkish Armed Forces, Azerbaijani MoD told APA.

 

The following 10 surgeries were successfully performed and 49 injured people were examined by the Azerbaijani medical team, which is assisting the victims of the earthquake in the fraternal country.

 

Azerbaijani military doctors have performed a total of 71 surgical operations and provided ambulatory care to 468 people.

 

It should be noted that the Azerbaijan Army’s 20 military medical personnel, including general surgeon, traumatologist, otolaryngologist, ophthalmologist, neurosurgeon, rheumatologist, anesthesiologist, plastic-reconstructive surgeon, medical attendant, operating nurses and anesthetists, were sent to Türkiye according to the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

Azerbaijan discloses amount of funds paid to healthcare workers fighting COVID-19

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani healthcare workers fighting the new COVID-19 strain were paid bonuses worth nearly two million manat ($1.17 million) in the period of May through December 2022, the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance told Trend.

 

The amount of urgent bonuses has been set as follows:

The Agency continues paying urgent bonuses for December, 2022 in accordance with the lists sent by public health facilities.

 

According to the Decree of the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers No. 19 of January 24, 2023, the deadline to provide urgent bonuses for healthcare workers fighting the new COVID-19 strain has been extended until March 1, 2023.

 

The first COVID-19 case in Azerbaijan was reported on Feb. 28, 2020. The coronavirus outbreak reportedly started in the Chinese Wuhan – which is an international transport hub – at a fish market in late December 2019. The World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11 declared COVID-19 a pandemic.

 

For almost three years now, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread all over the world. Despite a relative decrease in new infections and deaths worldwide, international experts believe that the pandemic is still a global issue. The main reason is that the virus is constantly mutating and changing, which means it differs from previous variants.

Azerbaijan`s coronavirus death toll reaches 10,105

Azerbaijan registered two new coronavirus deaths Tuesday, taking the country’s total number of fatalities to 10,105, the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers told AZERTAC.

 

The Task Force said health officials also detected 37 more coronavirus cases after carrying out 1,695 new tests.

 

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases identified in the country is now 828,395.

 

The total recoveries stood at 818,145, with 14 patients newly recovering from the disease.

Azerbaijan administers 456 COVID-19 jabs in 24 hours

Azerbaijan administered a total of 456 COVID-19 jabs on Monday, the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers told AZERTAC.

 

Azerbaijan has administered more than 13.9 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since it launched an immunization drive in January 2021.

 

More than 5.4 million people have received their first doses, while nearly 4.9 million people got their second doses.

 

Azerbaijan has also given third booster shots to nearly 3.4 million people.

Azerbaijan detects 6 new daily cases of COVID-19

6 new cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Azerbaijan, while 7 patients have been recovered, the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers told AZERTAC.

 

According to the Task Force, the overall confirmed cases in Azerbaijan have reached 828,358, with 818,131 recoveries and 10,103 deaths, while treatment of 124 others is underway.

 

A total of 7,514,447 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the country so far, the Task Force added.
