First residents to return to Azerbaijan’s liberated Khojaly in May


Cleaning, reconstruction, and construction works are currently being implemented in Azerbaijan’s Khojaly district, Shahmar Usubov, the head of Khojaly Region Executive Power told journalists, APA reports.

He noted that the cleaning works are about to be completed: “Houses unsuitable for reconstruction are being demolished. Simultaneously, construction works are being implemented. About 500 houses in Khojaly are being repaired, built, and improved. Roads, gas, and water are being built.”

The head of the executive noted that the first relocation to Khojaly is planned in May and June: “The first 50 families will return to their native lands. Then the relocation will continue. The population of Khojaly city is 8,400, and Khojaly district is 17,000.”
