Mastercard outlines main priorities of activity in Azerbaijan for upcoming period


BAKU: One of the priorities in Azerbaijan is to increase the number of NFC devices, Mastercard’s regional manager in Azerbaijan Emil Zeynalov said during the press conference, Trend reports.

‘One of our priorities is, of course, to increase the number of NFC devices. As we said earlier, NFC devices are very popular among everyone. You use these services on social media, and all our campaigns are aimed at expanding this. We also plan to continue investing in tokenization by running more campaigns that encourage NFC payments, as well as adding more banks to ApplePay and Google Pay services,’ he said.

According to him, the second priority is to expand the scope of Masterpass.

‘We are also prioritizing further expanding the reach of Masterpass technology by partnering with banks and starting to integrate with their mobile apps. We introduced Masterpass as part of the mobile application of one of the largest banks in Azerbaijan in 2023,’ he added.

To note, Mastercard is an international payment system that pro
vides financial services, including credit, debit, and prepaid cards. It allows its holders to make cashless payments at millions of points of sale around the world. Mastercard also provides technology solutions for banks, merchants, and other financial institutions. Mastercard cards are accepted in many countries and are used for a variety of transactions, including in-store purchases, online transactions, ATM cash withdrawals, and other financial transactions.
