A memorial evening in honor of Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, an Azerbaijani industrialist and philanthropist of the early 20th century, was held at the State Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, APA’s Moscow bureau reports.

The evening was opened by Alexander Sedov, the director of the Oriental Museum and a doctor of historical sciences, who noted that patronage and philanthropy have always been esteemed as noble actions in human history.

“The deeds of such individuals serve as examples for future generations in every nation. Today, we remember such a person – Zeynalabdin Taghiyev, who died 100 years ago,” said A. Sedov.
