The remains of Akif Seydulla Mahmudov, who went missing in the Khojaly genocide, were buried, APA reports.

The remains of the martyr found in the mass grave in Khojaly were buried in the cemetery in Jeyranbatan settlement.

Shahmar Usubov, head of Khojaly Region Executive Power, officials of the Office of the head of Executive Power, Rahim Mustafayev, head of the Khojaly district branch of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, relatives of the martyr and public representatives took part in the funeral ceremony.

A farewell ceremony is being held for Akif Mahmudov Seydulla, whose remains were found in a mass grave discovered in the area of Khojaly, APA reports.

The remains of Akif Mahmudov, who went missing during the Khojaly genocide, were brought to the home his family lives in Jeyranbatan.

Martyr’s son Nicat Mahmudov said
that his father was martyred in Khojaly 32 years ago: “My father’s remains were also found during the excavation works in Khojaly. An analysis was taken from me and my uncle, and based on the results of the analysis, it was noted that the remains belonged to my father. I was 3 years old when my father was martyred, i don’t remember my father.”

Note that Akif Mahmudov was born in Khojaly in 1962. A member of the voluntary self-defense group, A. Mahmudov went missing on February 26, 1992 at 30 years old. He was married and has 2 sons.
