TASHKENT: Uzbekistan plans to introduce a new billing system for accounting for electricity supplied to the population from August 1, the first deputy head of Regional Electric Networks Alvar Gaibullaev said, Trend reports.
According to him, the new billing system is currently being tested in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent.
A website and mobile application are expected to be launched that will provide information on payments and electricity consumption.
A representative of Regional Electric Networks also reported that the country’s supply of smart meters is 90%. All 8.5 million subscribers will be equipped with smart meters by August 1.
