First groups of SPM complete course at BHOS

Baku, January 12, AZERTAC

The first groups of the School of Project Management (SPM) which continue its activities at Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) are on the final stage of the program.

Having started classes in May and July 2017 respectively, they pass the last module out of seven modules comprising the training program. The participants have already made their choice between two options, which include PMP (Project Management Professional) Preparation and Negotiation Skills for Project Managers modules, BHOS said.

The PMP Exam Preparation module is conducted by Stratex’s professional instructor Didier Estibal, and Negotiation Skills for Project Managers is conducted by George Sifry. The former module, which lasts four days, focuses on the topics relating to project, time, quality, budget, labor, risk, and communication management and a test exam on these topics. The latter module allows the participants to learn how to use advanced methods of restoring frozen negotiations, using competitive and collective negotiation strategies, carrying out effective negotiable skills for effective cost and graphic implementation, and to develop collaborative relationships and management strategies which are crucial for the projects.

The participants of the SPM’s two groups include senior managers of BHOS, SOCAR, BP, Pasha Insurance, Atlantic Waves Solutions, Pasha Holding, Pasha Life Insurance, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, SOCAR Polymer, Azersu, Worley Parsons, CNFA and CBMC. This, once again confirms the need in preparation of national professional project managers for various spheres.

Stream 18 group of the School of Project Management has already started their training course, and registration of new groups of the participants has commenced.

SPM has been established in cooperation between British company TwentyEighty Strategy Execution (Stratex), and BP and its partners. Representatives of state organizations and private companies express a strong interest in study at SPM, which helps the students obtain theoretical and practical knowledge of various aspects of project management. Upon successful completion of the study, the trainees are awarded with Master certificate from the George Washington University (the USA).

Azerbaijan’s Permanent Mission to OSCE: Double standards hamper efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully

Baku, January 12, AZERTAC

“The double standards hamper the efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully. Azerbaijan supports the Italian OSCE Chairmanship’s intention to assist in fostering dialogue on political and military issues,” Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the OSCE has said in a statement at the special Permanent Council meeting held in Vienna, in response to the Chairperson-in-Office, Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano.

The statement mentions that Azerbaijan highly praises the willingness of Italy to take the responsibility of chairing the organization during such a challenging period.

“Our Italian colleagues can rely on the enthusiastic and constructive support of the Azerbaijani mission in implementing the Chairmanship’s objectives,” the statement says.

“Existing conflicts deprive millions of people of their fundamental rights and freedoms. Their plight can be effectively addressed only through the restoration of justice and rule of law on the basis of full respect for the territorial integrity, sovereignty and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of the conflict-affected states.”

“We strongly support the efforts of the Italian Chairmanship to counter all forms of racism, xenophobia, intolerance and discrimination. Azerbaijan, as a staunch advocate of multiculturalism and inter-cultural dialogue, remains committed to supporting Chairmanship’s initiatives in this regard,” the statement concludes.
