Azerbaijan to demonstrate video projection on anniversary of victory in Karabakh war

People will be able to see a video projection on the occasion of the anniversary of Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44-day second Armenia-Azerbaijan Karabakh war on the building of the Museum Center in Baku on November 8.

The audiovisual composition dedicated to the second Karabakh War and the Victory Day of Azerbaijan can be watched on the facade of the Museum Center from 20:55 (GMT+4).

Azerbaijan confirms 2,631 more COVID-19 cases, 1,989 recoveries

Azerbaijan has detected 2,631 new COVID-19 cases, 1,989 patients have recovered, and 28 patients have died, Trend reports citing the Operational Headquarters under Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers.

Up until now, 547,281 people have been infected with coronavirus in the country, 507,756 of them have recovered, and 7,269 people have died. Currently, 32,256 people are under treatment in special hospitals.

To reveal the COVID-19 cases, 12,367 tests have been carried out in Azerbaijan over the past day, and a total of 5,285,216 tests have been conducted so far.

Civilian injured as result of mine explosion in Azerbaijani Jabrayil

A civilian was blown up by a mine in Jabrayil, Trend reports citing Prosecutor’s Office of the Jebrail district of Azerbaijan.

The prosecutor’s office received information that on November 7 at about 16:00 Khanlar Aslanov, born in 1967, was blown up by a mine on the liberated territory of the district.

Aslanov received various injuries as a result of an explosion on an anti-personnel mine during agricultural work.

Investigation is underway on the fact in the Jabrayil District Prosecutor’s Office.

Algerian portal highlights 8th Global Baku Forum organized by Nizami Ganjavi International Center in Azerbaijani capital

Algeria’s “Al-Harir” portal has published an article highlighting the 8th Global Baku Forum under the motto “The world after COVID-19” organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center under the patronage of President Ilham Aliyev in the capital of Azerbaijan on November 4-6.

The article mentioned that nearly 300 guests joined the hybrid event in person and online format. “The Forum brought together high-level representatives, including former heads of state and government, officials of international and non-governmental organizations from more than 40 countries, as well as other distinguished guests to discuss issues of global importance,” the author noted.

The article also highlighted panel discussions held on the sidelines of the Forum on such issues as peace, security and human rights, climate change, global energy demand, health care and vaccination, food security, including the prospects for regional development and cooperation in the South Caucasus.

Eight killed after crowd surge at Texas festival

At least eight people have died and scores of people have been hurt after a crowd surge on the opening night of a music festival in Houston, Texas, BBC reports.

Panic broke out after the crowd began to press towards the front of the stage at rapper Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, emergency officials said.

Eleven people were taken to hospitals in cardiac arrest and eight died. Some casualties are aged as young as 10.

Some 50,000 people attended the outdoor event, which has been cancelled.

Astroworld said in a statement that their hearts were with the “festival family… especially those we lost and their loved ones”, and they thanked local emergency services for their response.

Ankara hosts official reception to mark Azerbaijan`s Victory Day

The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkey has organized an official reception to celebrate the Victory Day.

Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar and other state and government officials of the fraternal country, foreign military attachés, Azerbaijani ghazis receiving treatment in Ankara, as well as public representatives attended the event.
