ABU DHABI, March 06, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NEP Group, the leading media technology partner for content creators around the globe, announced that it has opened a new office in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to meet the growing demand for its services, strengthening the company’s investment and presence in the Middle East. Located across from the famed Khalifa Park in Abu Dhabi, NEP Middle East FZ LLC (“NEP Middle East”) will provide a wide range of outside broadcast solutions, including both on-site and remote production services, to enable clients to bring live sports and entertainment to fans and audiences around the region and worldwide.

NEP is expanding on its already extensive experience and work, ranging from covering UAE National Day celebrations and New Year’s Eve concerts, to many sporting events including Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 and 2022, the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup and T10 Cricket, and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Fight Island. Saeed Izadi, current head of NEP’s Singapore and India businesses, has been appointed President of NEP Middle East. He will oversee business strategy and operations for all three business units.

NEP also announced that Ammar Hina has joined the company as Business Development Director for the MENA region. Hina brings more than 16 years of industry experience to lead business development and operations NEP Middle East, serving as the key contact for clients, major events and cross-divisional initiatives. Throughout his career in broadcast and TV production, he has worked on some of the most prominent franchises in the sports industry, from FIFA World Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, AFC Asian Cup, UEFA Champions league, and European Qualifiers to the English Premier League live programming.

He joins NEP most recently from The UAE Pro League, the organizing body of the ADNOC Pro League and professional football in UAE. There he served as Director of Broadcast & TV Production where he formulated and oversaw the execution of the broadcast strategy for all competitions, identified market opportunities for content development and distribution channels, managed outside broadcast service provider and media rights holder relationships, and reported on viewership, fan experience, and stadium and venue development.

67 years pass since Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh’s death

Today is the remembrance day of one of the founders of the first democratic republic in the East Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh, APA reports.

Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh was born in the Novkhani district, Baku on January 31, 1884.

He participated in the foundation of the organization “Hummet” with the social democrats.

In 1909, under the persecution from Tsarist authorities, Rasulzade fled to Iran and began publishing its newspaper Iran-e Nou, after the suppression of the Constitutional Revolution he migrated to Turkey.

He joined the Musavat party in 1911 and 4 years later was elected Chairman of the Central Committee of the Musavat party.

In 1918, jointly with Fatali Khan Khoyski, Rasulzde officially declared the first independent Republic in the East. He was arrested after Bolshevik Occupation on April 28, 1920. Under the order of Stalin, he was released and transferred from Azerbaijan to Russia. Despite Stalin’s insistence, he refused to cooperate with Soviet Authorities and left USSR.

He died in Ankara on March 6, 1955.

On December 24, 1992, Azerbaijani President Abulfaz Elchibay issued an order on “Return of family members of well-known public figure Mammad Amin Rasulzade that faced repressions during the totalitarian soviet period to Azerbaijan and solution of the issues on their social conditions”.

On December 29, 1993, Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev issued an order on “marking 110th anniversary of public figure Mammad Amin Rasulzade”.

On November 22, 2013, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev issued an order on marking the 130th anniversary of Mammad Amin Rasulzade. Under the order, jubilee events are held in the country and abroad.

Note that President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order declaring 2018 as the Year of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

Israeli president to pay 2-day official visit to Turkiye

Israeli President Isaac Herzog will pay a two-day official visit to Turkiye on March 9-10, authorities said on Saturday, according to Anadolu Agency.

The visit will come upon the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to a statement by the Israeli presidency.

The Israeli president’s wife, Michal Herzog, will accompany him during the visit.

The two leaders will have a meeting at the presidential complex following an official welcoming ceremony in the capital Ankara.

Erdogan and Herzog are expected to discuss several bilateral issues, including Israeli-Turkish ties, and the potential to enhance cooperation in various fields.

The Israeli president is also expected to meet with members of the Jewish community in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul during his visit.

Herzog will become the first Israeli leader to visit Turkiye since 2008.

On Feb. 3, Erdogan announced that the Israeli president will visit Turkiye in March, saying it will be good for Turkiye-Israel relations.

38 children killed since the war began in Ukraine

The number of children killed in the war in the last 10 days as a result of Russia’s attack on Ukraine has been announced, APA reports quoting the Ukrainian Center for Strategic Communications and Security.

The Center reported that 38 children have been killed and 71 injured in Ukraine since February 24.

Ukraine changing work of enterprises

The work of enterprises is being changed, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov told citizens, Trend reports with reference to the Ukrainian Independent Information Agency of News (UNIAN).

“Plants and factories continue working, carry out the military orders, repair the equipment, turn the war trophies into weapons,” Reznikov said. “People must work in the country to fight. If you were forced to evacuate, find a job in a new area. Your help is required everywhere.”
