First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva congratulated people of Azerbaijan on Eid al-Adha

First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has made a post on her official Instagram page on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

The post says: “I sincerely congratulate all the people of Azerbaijan and the Muslims of the world on the occasion of the Holy Eid al-Adha! I wish you all the best of health, good emotions and a long life! Let there be many bright and happy days in everyone’s life! May Allah accept all the sacrifices made during these blessed days!”

Türkiye’s aviation fuel exports to Tajikistan down

BAKU, Azerbaijan, The volume of Türkiye’s aviation fuel exports to Tajikistan slightly decreased in April 2022, Trend reports citing Türkiye’s Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).


Türkiye’s aviation fuel exports to Tajikistan amounted to 141 tons, which is a decrease of 4.7 percent compared to April 2021 (148 tons).


However, this figure increased by 35.5 percent compared to the previous month of 2022 (104 tons).


Thus, the total volume of Tajikistan’s aviation fuel imports from Türkiye for the first four months of 2022 amounted to 492 tons, which is a decrease of 12.1 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (560 tons).

ESCAP promotes greenhouse gas monitoring in Turkmenistan (Exclusive)

BAKU, Azerbaijan, The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) promotes the quality management of greenhouse gas emission inventories in Turkmenistan, a source in the ESCAP told Trend.

“Recently, ESCAP, in cooperation with the UN Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team in Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), organized a special national online seminar based on our methodology. After completing the training and completing the tasks, the technical experts who participated in the seminar developed their skills in maintaining and providing high-quality greenhouse gas emission inventories, which lay the foundation for the development of their monitoring, reporting, and verification systems, as well as for improving the national transparency framework in accordance with the requirements of the Paris Agreement,” said the source.

At the same time, ESCAP, together with UN Resident Coordinators and UN Country Teams, is exploring the possibility of supporting both Turkmenistan and other Central Asian countries in digitizing their greenhouse gas emission inventories and collecting data.

“This will make it possible to provide information online to all interested parties when planning long-term low-emission development strategies and national plans for zero emissions of carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases,” ESCAP said.

New military unit opened in territory of Khojavand district 

According to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, activities on the provision of the Azerbaijan Army units stationed in the liberated territories, organization of troops’ service, and improvement of social and living conditions continue.

On the day of Gurban Bayram, the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the leadership of the Ministry and Head of the Executive Authority of Khojavand district Eyvaz Huseynov attended an opening of a new military unit in the territory of the Khojavand district.

The headquarters, canteen, medical point, soldiers’ barracks, car parking, warehouses for various purposes, and other infrastructure facilities in the territory of the military camp, built to organize combat training and troops’ service at a high level, as well as provide living conditions for military personnel, were inspected.

It was reported to the Minister of Defense that all office premises are equipped with air conditioners, furniture, modern sanitary facilities, bedding, kitchen equipment, and generators.

After the inspection of the military unit, the Minister of Defense gave relevant instructions on further improving the service and living conditions of the military personnel.

Then a concert program was organized for the military personnel on the occasion of the Gurban Bayram.

Speaking in front of the military personnel, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov emphasized that at the opening of the new commando military unit in Kalbajar district, the Commander-in-Chief once again highly appreciated the activities of the Azerbaijan Army. Noting the importance of worthy fulfillment of all assigned tasks to justify the trust placed by the country’s leadership, the Minister congratulated the military personnel on the commissioning of the new military unit and the Gurban Bayram, as well as wished them success in their military service.

This year, as in previous years, a sacrifice ceremony was held.

In the end, the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and the Head of the Executive Authority of Khojavand district Eyvaz Huseynov planted evergreen long-lived trees in the territory of the military unit as a sign of the unity of the army and the people.
