Import of plastic syringes to be exempted from custom duty in Azerbaijan from 2025

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Plastic syringes with the capacity of 2 ml or less, two to five ml, five to ten ml, ten to 20 ml and other plastic syringes with and without needle will be exempted from the customs duty starting from December 31, 2024, Trend reports citing Azerbaijan’s Cabinet of Ministers.


Cabinet of Ministers made amendments to the “Nomenclature of goods for foreign economic activity of Azerbaijan and the rates of import and export customs duties”.


The import of a syringe with a capacity of two ml or less with or without a needle will be subject to a duty of $0.02, from two to five ml – $0.025, from five to ten ml – $0.03, from ten to 20 ml – $0.04, other types – $0.04 until December 31, 2024.


The imports into the country of insulin plastic syringes with or without a needle of one ml or less are exempt from customs duty.

Iranian currency rates for November 6

BAKU, Azerbaijan, The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) announced an official rate of foreign currencies on November 6, Trend reports referring to CBI.


According to the currency exchange rate of the Central Bank of Iran, 24 currencies increased and 11 have decreased in price, compared to November 5.


According to CBI, $1 equals 42,000 Iranian rials and 1 euro equals 41,868 rials.

In Iran, the official exchange rate is used for the import of some essential products.


SANA system is a system introduced by the Central Bank of Iran to the currency exchange offices, where the price of 1 euro is 288,232 rials, and the price of $1 is 289,136 rials.


NIMA is a system intended for the sale of a certain percentage of the foreign currency gained from export.


The price of 1 euro in this system is 273,572 rials, and the price of $1 is 274,430 rials.


On the black market, $1 is worth about 357,000-360,000 rials, while 1 euro is worth about 350,000-353,000 rials.

Baku Metro talks on construction of new stations

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 5. The design documentation of the Baku Metro station under the conditional name Y14 to be built on the “green” branch is already ready, Chief Engineer for the Operation of Baku Metro CJSC Alikhan Osmanov said at the event dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Baku Metro, Trend reports.


As for the station conventionally named Y15, the foundation pit has already been dug, and construction work at the Y16 station is 50 percent complete.


“The scheme of further development of the Baku Metro provides further expansion of the “red” line, construction of the “blue” line and other works. We are following this plan step by step. Construction is underway on the fourth station of the purple line. The construction of stations under the conventional names Y14, Y15 between “Khatai” and “Azi Aslanov” stations as a continuation of the “green” line is not carried out now. Three stations on the green line from Darnagul station to Koroglu station are also envisaged. Their projects are already ready,” he said.

Work continues on introducing bank card payment system in Baku metro

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Baku Metro CJSC has successfully carried out preliminary testing of the system of payment by bank cards, Deputy Board Chairman of the Baku Metro CJSC Hidayat Mammadov told reporters at the event dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Baku Metro, Trend reports.


He noted that work on the technical design is continuing.


“Preliminary testing has been successful. As the Baku Metro is used by a large number of passengers, the technical functionality of the system should be at an optimal level. That is, it is important to solve a large number of issues here. After all the tests are fully completed and problem-free operation of the system is ensured, specific information on the application will be provided,” Mammadov said.

Young athlete talks on achieving high results in trampoline gymnastics

BAKU, Azerbaijan, I dream to achieve high results in trampoline gymnastics, a participant in the 6th championship of Baku on trampoline, a young athlete Samira Huseynova, representing the club “Ojag Sport Club” told Trend.


“Of course I want to become a champion. I like watching the performances of the national team members – Magsud Makhsudov and Seljan Makhsudova, they perform their programs wonderfully. I think if I train a lot in the future I can achieve the same results,” she said.


According Huseynova, from an early age she dreamed of doing trampoline gymnastics.


“I’ve been involved in the sport since I was four years old, trampoline has an important place in my life. I am very grateful to my coach, who teaches me a lot. Before that I took part in competitions held in the country, but by the end of this month international competitions in Bulgaria are waiting for me. I hope that I will show there a good result, “she added.


The competition of the 6th championship of Baku on trampoline. A total of 55 boys and 46 girls, representing “Ojag Sport Club” and Baku Gymnastics School are taking part in the competition.


Gymnasts compete in the age categories of “youngsters” (born in 2015), “children” (born in 2012-2014), “pre-juniors” (born in 2010-2011) and “juniors” (born in 2006-2009).
