In the first quarter of this year, 3,743 flats with a total area of 412,300 m2 were commissioned in Azerbaijan. These are mainly individual houses, the State Statistics Committee told Turan. In the reviewed period, 2,316 flats, with an average area of 132.3 m2, were built and commissioned at the expense of citizens. In the first quarter, private companies commissioned 897 flats in apartment buildings with an average area of 71.6 m2. Flats built at the expense of public funds (530) are more extensive in this period – the average size is 78.5 m2. According to the SSC, one quarter of the housing delivered this year was built in rural areas. In 2022, 23,289 flats (including 11,241 individual houses) were commissioned in Azerbaijan, which is up by 42.7% from a year before.
