6,000 grant places to be allocated in universities of Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan proposes to allocate 6,000 grant places in higher education institutions in the country for the next academic year. The ministry submitted the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the approval of the list of specialties and admission of students to higher educational institutions for public discussion.

As background statement says, the project was developed to approve the plan for admission on a grant basis to the universities of the republic in the context of specialties and areas of training of bachelors and masters.

It is proposed to allocate 4,652 places out of 6,000 state educational grants to the universities subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science. The rest of the grant places will be funded through other government agencies: the Interior Ministry — 130, the Ministry of Health — 380, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy — 210, the Ministry of Defense — 125 and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — 20.

In addition, 464 out of the total number of grant places are proposed to be allocated for master’s degree programs.
