Ambassador of the Netherlands Pauline Eizema was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on Friday. The Foreign Ministry informed that the dissatisfaction with the letter of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Minister of Foreign Affairs Wopke Hoekstra to the country’s parliament on 23 November was brought to the attention of the Ambassador. It contains allegations on the commission of “war crimes” by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

The ambassador was told that during the First and Second Karabakh wars, the Armenian side subjected to rocket attacks peaceful civilian cities – Ganja, Barda, Mingachevir, committing crimes against humanity. Armenia still poses a serious threat to people’s lives today. So, after the 2020 war, about 268 Azerbaijanis became victims of mine explosions.

With regard to criminal acts allegedly committed during military operations, on September 17, 2022, the military prosecutor’s office launched a comprehensive investigation to establish the authenticity of the relevant videos distributed on social networks. The ambassador, for her part, said that she would convey the dissatisfaction of the Azerbaijani side to the relevant bodies of the Netherlands
