Another agreement to expand Education Network of Azerbaijan

The Department of Informatization of the Education System (DIES) under the Ministry of Education announced the conclusion on October 20 of an agreement worth 8 million 366.700 manats ($4 million 921.000) with “Techno Lux M” LLC for the purchase of cable network equipment software, as well as IP telephony equipment for expansion of the Azerbaijani educational network and new connections.

A month earlier, this structure of the Ministry of Education signed a contract with “BTH” LLC for laying fiber-optic cables to secondary schools for connection to high-speed Internet in the amount of 3 million 994.400 manats ($2 million 350.000).

The common thing between these two contracts is that there is no public information about companies that have been awarded contracts for several million dollars, including their qualifications.

Note that the DIES has not yet disclosed information about which regions and schools will be affected by the expansion of the Azerbaijani educational network.

In March this year, the DIES reported an increase in the number of educational institutions provided with fast fiber-optic communication. By that time, the Azerbaijan Educational Network (AEN) covered a total of 4,292 educational institutions. In 2021, 478 educational institutions were connected to the high-speed fiber-optic connection. As a result, the total number of educational institutions connected to the network with fiber-optic communication amounted to 726.

Recall that the “Techno Lux” M LLC (TIN: 2905154871) was set up in 2018 in Sumgayit (director Miraga Babashov). This year, the legal address of the company changed to the place of residence of its current director, 56–year-old Elchin Gasymov in Baku
