The illegal visit of the Armenian Defense Minister to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan is another act of provocation by the opposite side. The statement came from Leyla Abdullayeva, head of the Foreign Ministry’s press service.

“All this shows that the Armenian side is deliberately trying to aggravate the situation. “Taking these steps on the eve of the first anniversary of the Tripartite Declaration of November 10, 2020 serves to overshadow the activities of Russian peacekeepers, and in general, it is a violation of the provisions of the Tripartite Declaration,” Abdullayeva said.

The head of the press service also commented on the incident near Shusha on November 8.

“Thus, the statements of the Armenian side state that these people allegedly acted on November 8 to repair the water line near the Khankendi-Shusha road. We would like to note that Russian peacekeepers are usually informed before any activity in this area and the activity is accompanied by peacekeepers. This time, the Russian peacekeepers were not informed and were not involved in the process. This, of course, raises serious questions, “Abdullayeva said.

According to him, on this date, an event was held in Shusha with the participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and state officials, and it is known that in such cases, enhanced security measures are taken in the area. Knowing this, it makes no sense to repair any water line in the area close to the area.
