Azerbaijan Aims for Normalized Relations with Armenia, Presidential Aide Asserts

Baku – Azerbaijan seeks to normalize its bilateral relations with Armenia following the resolution of a prolonged conflict in the region, as stated by Hikmet Hakiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan. He criticized the OSCE and the Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship for their failure to resolve the Karabakh conflict, accusing them of perpetuating Armenia’s occupation of Azerbaijani territories.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, New Hakiyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is now focused on establishing peace and expects Armenia to demonstrate goodwill and play an active role in the peace process. He highlighted the emergence of new regional realities based on justice, legality, and legitimacy, marking the end of military occupation and injustice.

The Azerbaijani official’s remarks underscore the country’s commitment to forging a peaceful future with Armenia, contingent on mutual effort and cooperation.
