Azerbaijan, Algeria enjoy good opportunities for development of relations

Azerbaijan and Algeria enjoy good opportunities for development of the relations, said Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Novruz Mammadov as he met with a delegation led by Minister of Justice of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Tayeb Louh.

PM Novruz Mammadov noted that this visit is of great importance in terms of expanding the bilateral ties even further.

Novruz Mammadov stressed the importance of high-level reciprocal visits and noted the significance of development of relations between the two countries in all areas.

The Azerbaijani premier underlined that there are good opportunities for further development of the relations in a number of directions of economy, including energy, tourism, industry and other spheres.

Highlighting the developing ties in the legal field, the prime minister said that a Memorandum of Understanding signed last year between the ministries of justice of Azerbaijan and Algeria created a good opportunity for expansion of the mutual activity. Novruz Mammadov also noted the importance of an intergovernmental agreement on extradition signed on June 21 as part of the visit of the Algerian delegation.

Highlighting Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, PM Novruz Mammadov said that the mutual support of the two countries within international organizations is of great importance.

Algerian Minister of Justice Tayeb Louh offered his congratulations on the successful presidential elections held in Azerbaijan and a landslide victory of President Ilham Aliyev in the elections.

Tayeb Louh expressed confidence that the visit of the Algerian delegation to Azerbaijan and the signed agreement will give impetus to development of relations between the two countries.
