Azerbaijan and Armenia Agree to Accelerate Efforts Toward Peace Agreement


New York: Azerbaijan and Armenia have agreed to intensify efforts to finalize the Agreement on Peace and Establishment of Interstate Relations, according to a press release from Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry. The agreement was made during a meeting between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, held under the initiative of U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly on September 26, 2024. Both parties committed to working towards the swift conclusion of the peace agreement, aiming to stabilize relations after years of conflict.
