Azerbaijan and Serbia Sign Agreements on Natural Gas Supply and Green Energy Cooperation


Belgrade: Azerbaijan and Serbia have signed key agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation in natural gas supply and green energy development. During a visit to Belgrade, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Energy met with Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, to discuss expanding energy ties between the two countries.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ministers highlighted the importance of the strong friendship between the leaders of Azerbaijan and Serbia in promoting the strategic partnership. The meeting concluded with the signing of a gas supply agreement between SOCAR, Azerbaijan’s state oil company, and Serbia’s Srbijagas, as well as a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in green energy. The gas agreement includes the supply of an additional 1 million cubic meters of gas per day between November 1, 2024, and April 1, 2025. The green energy memorandum outlines collaboration on renewable energy, green hydrogen, and new technologies for carbon capture and storage.



The agreements are seen as a step forward in boosting mutual investments in the energy sector, with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
