Azerbaijan and UAE Enhance Aviation Ties in Preparation for COP29


BAKU — A pivotal meeting between Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC and UAE aviation authorities commenced on September 19 in Baku, focusing on enhancing civil aviation cooperation and exchanging insights from the UAE’s experience hosting the previous Conference of the Parties (COP28) in Dubai. This collaboration is key as Azerbaijan gears up to host COP29.



According to Trend News Agency, the two-day meeting brings together senior executives from Azerbaijan Airlines and key UAE representatives from the General Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai airports, Jetex, and Dubai Air Navigation Services. The discussions aim to leverage the UAE’s expertise in organizing significant global events to boost Baku’s readiness for the upcoming COP29. The cooperation covers several areas including logistics, flight safety, air traffic management, passenger comfort, digital technology integration, and airport management efficiency, all pivotal in preparing for the substantial challenges of hosting a major international environmental event.



The engagement between Azerbaijan and the UAE underscores a mutual commitment to advancing sustainable development and addressing climate change through enhanced collaboration in civil aviation.
