“Azerbaijan Democratic Republic-100” Park inaugurated in Istanbul

The opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic-100 Park has been held in Istanbul, Turkey, co-organized by Azerbaijans State Committee for Work with Diaspora and Istanbul Maltapa Municipality.

Azerbaijani and Turkish officials, including MPs, diplomats, intellectuals, public figures, Azerbaijanis working and studying in Turkey and heads of diaspora organizaions attended the ceremony.

Addressing the event, Maltepe Mayor Ali Kilic, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ankara Khazar Ibrahim, and first deputy chairman of Azerbaijans State Committee for Work with Diaspora Valeh Hajiyev highlighted the history and remarkable achievements of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic.

The ceremony featured the opening of a 10-day exhibition of the Azerbaijani artists living in Turkey.

Later the same day a conference marking the centenary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held at Turkan Saylan Cultural Center.

The panel dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev featured the screening of a film about the great leader.
