Azerbaijan Imports Approximately 600,000 Tons of Wheat in Eight Months


BAKU — Azerbaijan imported nearly 600,000 tons of wheat in the first eight months of 2024, with the total value of these imports reaching approximately $128 million.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, citing the State Customs Committee, a total of 579,926 tons of wheat was imported between January and August 2024. The average price for one ton of wheat in August 2024 decreased by 2.3%, or 8.7 manats, compared to the previous year, with the price standing at 375.7 manats per ton. Wheat imports accounted for 1.01% of Azerbaijan’s total imports during the January-August period.
