Azerbaijan organizes int’l events at high level – US diplomat

All international events are organized by Azerbaijan at a very high level, Derek Hogan, charge d’affaires of US embassy in Azerbaijan, told Trend July 22.

Hogan said he has been working in Azerbaijan for three years and he has seen the Baku 2015 First European Games and the 2016 Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe.

He said this time Azerbaijan has been able to show visitors an amazing opening ceremony.

He added that the opening ceremony was very creative, original and fantastic, as it was during the European Games.

Hogan also said he saw the National Gymnastics Arena for the first time and pointed to the great conditions there.

Hogan said he is pleased that the US gymnasts also participate in the competition and that the embassy is proud of the American gymnasts.

The FIG World Cup Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics will last until July 24, giving a unique opportunity to watch the performances of eminent gymnasts from 17 countries two weeks prior to the Rio Olympics.

Twenty-six gymnasts and 9 teams will compete for medals in the all-around on the first two days of competitions. Apparatus finals will be held on the event’s last day.
