Azerbaijan produces 34.4 bcm of natural gas in nine months

According to operational data for January-September 2022, Azerbaijan produced 34.4 bcm of natural gas. 10 bcm of gas were produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, 18.5 billion cubic meters from Shah Deniz and 5.9 bcm from SOCAR. Gas was transported with an increase of approximately 2.7 bcm, namely 8.6 percent compared to the relevant period last year.

During the reporting period, gas sales abroad amounted to 16.3 bcm, which is 22.6 % more than in the same period last year. During 9 months, 8.3 bcm of gas was sold to Europe, 1.9 billion cubic meters to Georgia and 6.1 billion cubic meters to Turkiye. It should be noted that, during this period nearly 4.2 bcm gas was exported to Turkiye through TANAP.

Since the commissioning of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz till 1 October this year, about 200 bcm of gas was produced from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and more than 176 bcm of gas from Shah Deniz. During this period, 122.6 bcm gas was exported from Shah Deniz.

Azerbaijan produced 24.5 million tons of oil (including condensate) in January-September 2022. Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli accounted for 15.4 million tons of oil produced in the republic while Shah Deniz for 3.3 million tons (condensate). SOCAR’s oil output amounted to 5.8 million tons (including condensate).

The volume of exported oil, including condensate, amounted to 19.7 million tons. Out of this, consortium accounts for nearly 18.6 million tons, SOCAR for 1.1 million tons.

Since its commissioning till 1 October 2022, nearly 600.9 million tons oil (including condensate) were extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli and Shah Deniz. 561.8 million tons of oil were extracted from ACG, while 39.1 million tons condensate from Shah Deniz. 599 million tons out of this were exported since 1 October.

In January-September 2022, oil refining in the country amounted to 4.5 million tons.
