Azerbaijan Reports 7.8% Increase in Revenues from Main Gas Pipelines in First Half of 2024


BAKU — Azerbaijan’s revenues from cargo transportation via main gas pipelines reached AZN 1,359.8 million in the first six months of 2024, marking a 7.8% increase compared to the same period last year.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this figure represents a rise from AZN 1,261.3 million reported during the corresponding period in 2023. The volume of gas transported through the main pipelines also saw a slight increase of 1.3% year-on-year, with 20.5 billion cubic meters of gas moved from January to June 2024. The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline accounted for 55.6% of this transportation, with 11.4 billion cubic meters of gas transported through this route, reflecting a 2.6% increase compared to last year.



In 2023, Azerbaijan’s total revenue from gas transportation via main pipelines was AZN 2.5 billion, an 8.1% increase from the previous year. The total volume of gas transported during that period was 39.3 billion cubic meters, with the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline handling 21.8 billion cubic meters—a 4.8% increase compared to 2022.
