ATYRAU — The Azerbaijani wrestling team showcased its prowess at the Oil Capital Cup, securing a full set of medals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman categories.

According to Trend News Agency, the tournament, held in the city of Atyrau, Kazakhstan, witnessed strong performances from Azerbaijani athletes under the tutelage of coach Ashraf Aliyev. Kanan Geybatov, competing in the 70 kg freestyle category, emerged as the champion after defeating all his rivals. Ashraf Ashyrov claimed a silver medal in the 79 kg category, while Musa Agayev took bronze in the 65 kg category. This achievement marked a triumphant completion of the event for the Azerbaijani team, securing gold, silver, and bronze medals.

The Oil Capital Cup is noted for attracting skilled wrestlers from the region, providing a platform for athletes to demonstrate their skills and gain international experience.
