BAKU — The General Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan has successfully facilitated the extradition of Kazimov Rauf Jafarovich, an internationally wanted Azerbaijani national, from Georgia.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rauf Kazimov, accused of committing large-scale fraud under Article 178.3.2 of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code, was apprehended in Georgia and returned to Azerbaijan on September 3, 2024. This operation was carried out by a special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, following a preliminary investigation by the Binagadi District Police Department in Baku which led to an international search and his indictment.
