The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan is taking measures following the epizootic situation in the world on the basis of information from the World Health Organization (WHO), Trend reports citing the agency.
According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), highly pathogenic bird flu has been detected in North Rhine-Westphalia and the administrative-territorial units, Karnali and Bagmati (Nepal).
“To this end, a temporary ban was introduced on the import of all types of poultry meat and poultry products from these territories into Azerbaijan,” the agency said.
Besides, in order to strengthen control measures, an appeal was made to Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee to take appropriate measures regarding vehicles entering or passing in transit through the country from Germany and Nepal.
