The draw for the preliminary round of the 4th edition of the International Handball Federation (IHF) Men`s Emerging Nations Championship has been held at the IHF Head Office in Basel, with the 12 participating teams learning their rivals.

As a result of the draw, the 12 sides were divided into four pots of three teams each.

Azerbaijan will meet host Bulgaria and Nigeria in Group D.

Group A will feature Malta, Andorra and India; Group B – Cyprus, Moldova and Australia; Group C – Great Britain, Cuba and Guatemala.

The competition will take place in Varna, Bulgaria, on April 25-30, 2023. The winner of each group will progress to the semi-finals, while the second-placed sides head to the Placement Round 5/8, with the third-placed sides featuring in the Placement Round 9/12.
