Azerbaijani and Turkish Foreign Ministers exchanged congratulatory letters

On January 14, 2022, the Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey exchanged congratulatory letters on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated his counterpart from the brotherly country on the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. He noted that our relations with Turkey, the first country to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence, have developed in recent years in accordance with the views of the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy, sorrow is our sorrow” and national leader Heydar Aliyev’s “One Nation, Two States”. It was stressed that the current level of relations between our countries is based on the will of our peoples and the fraternal relations between the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan-Turkey relations are at its historic peak and noted with satisfaction the contribution of his counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in raising relations between the two countries from a strategic level to an ally level.

It was noted that the support of brotherly Turkey for the just and fair position of our country at all levels during the war and its aftermath was highly appreciated by the head of state and the Azerbaijani people in general.

It was noted that large-scale regional and global projects implemented jointly have contributed to the further expansion of trade and economic ties between our countries, regional development, as well as the successful continuation of our cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed confidence that the fraternal and allied relations between our countries will continue to develop in the interests of our peoples.

In turn, Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu sincerely congratulated his Azerbaijani counterpart. He noted that the 71-year longing between Turkey and Azerbaijan ended with the protocol documents signed on January 14, 1992, and the embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Baku, which began operating on that day, was the first embassy in Azerbaijan.
