Azerbaijani Taekwondo Team Secures 13 Medals at Latvia Open Tournament

RIGA — Azerbaijani young taekwondoists showcased their prowess by clinching 13 medals in an international open tournament, solidifying their position in the competitive G-1 category.

According to Trend News Agency, the event, hosted in Latvia, saw a significant achievement from the Azerbaijani team. Gold medals were secured by four athletes: Ilyas Khatamli in the 48 kg category, Muhammad Hasanli at 51 kg, Fuad Maharramli competing at 55 kg, and Eljan Aliyev in the 78 kg division. Silver medals were won by Nargiz Kyazimova at 63 kg and Yunis Guseinov at 68 kg, both of whom reached the finals. The bronze medalists included Nilufar Borji (49 kg), Sekhri Jalalova (55 kg), Fatima Hasanova (59 kg), Harun Salmanzade (51 kg), Ziya Hasanli (59 kg), Huseyn Khudiyev (73 kg), and Allahverdi Mamedov in the +78 kg category.

The successful contingent is set to return to Baku on September 16, following their impressive performance abroad.
