Vugar Allahverdiyev, adviser to the Secretary-General on Youth issues at the UN Secretariat in New York, has been appointed to the post of Program Manager in the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), APA reports.
He has worked in the different responsible positions at the UN Office in Azerbaijan, as well as at its headquarters in New York. Vugar Allahverdiyev, who started his career at the United Nations Development Programme, Azerbaijan Country Office in 2006, has worked at the UN Secretariat in New York as an adviser to the Secretary-General on Youth issues and at various positions at the UN Population Fund from 2014 to present.
Our compatriot who is the first Azerbaijani citizen appointed to the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), will lead to the terrorist travel prevention program within the framework of his position at the institution.
