Azerbaijan’s CEC Chairman Urges MP Candidates to Comply with Election Protocols

BAKU — In a pivotal meeting held today, Mazahir Panahov, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan, emphasized the importance of MP candidates submitting their applications through proper channels, specifically to the District Election Commissions.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Chairman Panahov stressed the procedural necessity during the CEC meeting, outlining the steps for addressing complaints and appeals in the election process. “Constituencies should thoroughly investigate and consider the appeals of the complainants. If the complainant is dissatisfied with the decision of the constituency, then they can appeal to us,” Panahov explained. He noted that the urgency of today’s meeting was to assist complainants more effectively and ensure all candidates understand their responsibilities and the available recourse should they encounter issues.

The instructions from the CEC aim to streamline the electoral process and minimize disputes by ensuring that all procedures are clearly communicated and adhered to by prospective parliamentary candidates.
