Azerbaijan`s defense minister visits units stationed on border with Armenia

On November 4, under the instruction of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and the leadership of the Ministry visited military units stationed in the region bordering Armenia.

The minister of defense, who got acquainted with the conditions created in the recently commissioned accommodation point, was reported that all the necessary conditions for organizing the troops’ service at a high level have been created at the point.

There is a weapon room, a dormitory, a canteen, a kitchen, food and clothing warehouses, a bath and sanitary facility, heating stoves, generators to provide the area with uninterrupted electricity and solar panels, as well as a storage park for combat equipment.

In order to get prepared for winter, reserves with all types of supplies, including liquid, wood and coal fuel, were created at strongholds and combat positions.

Having familiarized himself with the military personnel’s living conditions, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov got acquainted with the service and combat activities of servicemen serving in combat positions.

The minister of defense was reported on the operational situation.

The minister met with servicemen, serving in areas with harsh climatic conditions and difficult terrain, and highly appreciated their combat and moral-psychological readiness.

The defense minister gave instructions to the relevant officers on the organization of combat duty and troops’ service, as well as further improvement of servicemen’s social and living conditions.
