Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the State Commission for Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking held a joint online event on the topic “Drugs are a borderless disaster”.
The event was organized in order to coordinate work with the relevant authorities during the implementation of the “State program for combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors for 2019-2024”.
Vice-Rector for Educational Work, Isa Khalilov, and Vice-Rector for Science and Technology, Ilham Pirmamedov, spoke at the event about the importance of the meeting. Note that in connection with the implementation of the state program in AzTU, an appropriate action plan has been prepared and purposeful work is being carried out in this direction.
The main facilitator of the event, head of the national information sector on illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances of the working group of the State Commission, Ragif Allahverdiyev, spoke about the significance of holding educational meetings in schools, institutions of primary vocational education, secondary specialized and higher educational institutions of the Republic.
He noted that the aim of such events is to inform the public about the negative impact of drugs on the human body, about the consequences caused by drug addiction, as well as to answer questions that may arise in this direction.
The second part of the event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics of AzTU, Arasta Mammadov, the head of the SABAH group of the University, Aytan Sadigova, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Lala Pirieva, the Head of the Department of Humanities, Gabib Mirzoev, the chairman of the Student Youth Organization (SMO), Lala Rustamova.
The event was also attended by representatives of the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University(ASPU), Sumgait State University (SSU), Mingachevir State University (MSU), Lankaran State University (LSU), Azerbaijan University (AS) and Khazar University.
