Illegal exploitation of natural resources is taking place on the territory where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed in Karabakh. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence, on the basis of a request from the country’s Ministry of Ecology, contacted Russian peacekeepers to monitor and verify the illegal exploitation of minerals.
On 3 December 2022, around 11:00 a.m., officers of the Ministry of Ecology, State Service for Real Estate and “AzerGold” came to the Russian peacekeepers’ roadblock between the cities of Khankandi and Shusha.
“The work of a group of experts in the areas of temporary deployment of Russian peacekeeping forces in order to investigate and control illegal exploitation of minerals and environmental damage caused by them is being discussed with the command of peacekeeping forces,” the Ministry of Ecology said in a statement. The public will be informed of the results of the negotiations,” the Ecology Ministry said.
It is worth mentioning that since that moment the traffic along the Lachin corridor has been stopped. -02В-

Armenians report blocking of Lachin corridor
Baku/03.12.22/Turan: At around 1pm on Saturday, Azerbaijanis blocked traffic along the Lachin corridor.
This happened when pulling up to the town of Shusha, Armenian sources claim. They claim that a group of men in plain clothes did this.
The Azerbaijani side has not yet commented on the situation.
Military expert Elkhan Shikhaliyev, in an interview with Turan, noted that it is correct to talk about taking the road under the control of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, and not blocking it.
“This has been expected for a long time. Iranian terrorists penetrated into Karabakh through the Lachin road, weapons were transported from Armenia. It is advisable to take the Lachin road under strict joint Azerbaijani-Russian control in order to put an end to disagreements with the Russian Federation over its use by Armenian armed formations,” the expert said.
