Azerbaijan is ready to normalize relations with Armenia based on the principle of territorial integrity and sovereignty, stated on Friday at a briefing in Baku Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov following a meeting with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Landsbergis.
Bayramov accused Armenia of unwillingness to hand over minefield maps to Azerbaijan, although the Azerbaijani side complies with all points of the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020.
“Despite the appeals of Azerbaijan and international partners, Armenia refuses to provide maps of minefields. After November 10, when mines exploded in the liberated territories, 22 people died and about 100 were injured,” he said.
In turn, the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry called on Baku and Yerevan to resolve the “remaining issues” in order to improve the security situation in the region and strengthen peace.
