Baku-Istanbul flight delayed as plane collides with bird flock

The Baku-Istanbul flight, operated by the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), was delayed as the plane collided with a flock of birds during take-off, AZAL spokesman Pasha Kasamanski told Trend June 9.
He noted that the collision occurred on the runway and in accordance with the rules the crew commander decided not to carry out the flight.
“Currently, the technical inspection of the aircraft is underway. The permission for carrying out the flight will be given after receiving the confirmation about the plane’s serviceability,” said Kasamanski.
He added that there were no casualties as a result of the incident
