Bones of people killed by Armenians in 1993 were discovered in Aghdam –UPDATED

On July 24, 1993, an investigation was launched on the application submitted to the district prosecutor’s office that several Azerbaijani citizens were killed by Armenian military units in the area of Saricali village of Aghdam district and buried in that area, APA reports citing the Aghdam district prosecutor’s office.

 

Məlumata görə, araşdırma ilə əlaqədar olaraq prokurorluq əməkdaşları tərəfindən məhkəmə-tibb ekspertinin iştirakı ilə noyabrın 22-də rayonun Sarıcalı kəndindən keçən Ağcabədi-Ağdam yolunun sağ və sol tərəflərində xüsusi texniki vasitələrdən istifadə edilməklə qazıntı işləri aparılıb.

 

According to information, in connection with the investigation, the prosecutor’s office staff, with the participation of a forensic expert, carried out excavations using special technical means on the right and left sides of the Aghjabadi-Aghdam road passing through Sarijali village of the region on November 22.

 

Human bones were found in Aghdam, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan told APA.

 

According to the information received on November 22, human bones were discovered during the excavations conducted in Sarıcalı village of Aghdam district, which was liberated from occupation, with the participation of police, prosecutor’s office, and security service employees.

 

During the excavations, 15 bones, supposed to belong to a person, were found in the mentioned area, packed properly, and taken away for examination.

 

The investigation is currently underway.
