Boris Pistorius, a 62-year-old Social Democrat, was sworn in as Germany’s new defense minister on Thursday following the resignation of Christine Lambrecht on Monday after months of mounting criticism, APA reports citing CGTN.

Earlier in the day, Boris Pistorius received his certificate of appointment as the new defense minister from German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
