BP stops gas production at one of the “Shah Deniz” platforms

BP-Azerbaijan will work one of the platforms at the “Shah Deniz” gas field for 14 days in connection with prevention work. “Since August 14, in connection with the planned preventive work, production from the Alpha platform at the “Shah Deniz” field has been stopped for 14 days,” the press service of BP-Azerbaijan said.

The company also reported that the operation of the units built at the Sangachal terminal as part of Stage-1 of the development of the “Shah Deniz” field will be stopped for the same period.

“As part of the program, at the “Shah Deniz” Phase 1 facilities at the Sangachal terminal, preventive maintenance and inspection of important safety equipment will be carried out, flare cables will be replaced, a new set of gas analysis equipment will be installed (to measure the intensity of methane), some work will be carried out to protect lines of monoethylene glycol from pressure increase, replacement of valves and other works,” the message says.
