Canada announced expansion of already imposed sanctions against Russia

Canadian Foreign Ministry announced plans to expand energy and industrial sanctions against Russia, said the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APA reports citing Ria Novosti.

It is specified that the changes will affect the spheres of the oil, gas and chemical sectors. Restrictions will apply to industrial production in these areas.

“These new sanctions will apply to land and pipeline transport, the production of metals, vehicles, computers, electronic, electrical and machinery equipment,” the ministry explained.

It is also noted that after the introduction of restrictions, Canadian businesses will have 60 days to complete contracts with affected industries.

July 8 Ottawa also introduced sanctions against 29 individuals and 15 legal entities. So, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, deputy head Roskomnadzor Miloš Wagner, RT broadcast director Anton Krasovsky and writer Zakhar (Evgeny) Prilepin.
