Canadian students informed of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

First Secretary of the Azerbaijani Embassy to Canada Arif Mammadov has made a presentation at the University of Ottawa to inform students of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

He highlighted the history of the dispute, Armenia’s occupation of Azerbaijans internationally recognized territories, ethnic cleansing in the occupied lands, Armenian illegal settlement and economic activities in those areas.

He also provided an insight into the UN Security Councils and General Assembly’s conflict-related resolutions, OSCE Minsk Groups mediation mission, as well as the European Court of Human Rights’ verdict on the case of “Chiragov and others vs Armenia”.

The event also featured a question-and-answer session with the Embassy secretary.
